JustSayHi

free online dating justsayhi.com

I know we’ve previously gone through the online dating site JustSayHi.com, but I wanted to check it out again and see if there had been any changes go a little more in depth to searching for singles on the site.

When I first checked out JustSayHi, I posted an ad pretty quickly and noticed it was a 100% free online dating site. This is still true and I doubt that it will ever change. This is a very clean site. No nude pics, or live sex cams or anything like that here. I would describe JustSayHi as a bridge between sites like Facebook and Match.com or something. Its a very low key introduction to the online dating world which I like. This way, timid singles can have a low pressure site to start testing the waters on and see what it’s like to meet people online for dating purposes.

The first day I joined I sent a messge to 1 girl and pretty quickly got a legit response. Not a bs message or anything like that. So today I want to explore a little more on JustSayHi and see if there seem to be more members, features, or anthing else that we should be aware of.

I remember there being a pretty good number of people on the site last time. So I just searched for females with 50 miles of my ad in a medium sized city in the midwest. I am pretty surprised with the number of responses it returned. I used the gallery view which displays 30 ads per page. The search returned 17 pages. Thats 210 within 50 miles which I would have to say isn’t too bad coming from the midwest. Looks like JustSayHi has gotten a few more online daters since the last check up. Read more »

True

true.com online dating website

It’s time to review True.com. True came on to the online dating scene a few years ago. You used to see a lot of advertisements for their site on places like Myspace, but they have slowed down with their banners it seems. Now they rank very high on google for “online dating” and pay to be a featured search result most times. Lets take a closer look at the site, and what they have to offer their members or surfers who are considering making a dating profile.

As usual, when checking out a dating site I like to go throught the process of creating a free profile. If you are more interested in seeing what features are offered and traffic rankings, jump down a few paragraphs. When you click “Join Now” they want you to search first, and see all the results that come up for your specific location. Once you get the results page, a pop-up will ask you to create your profile. The first page is not bad at all. Very standard fields to fill out. To keep you motivated to fill out all 5 pages, in the top right corner, they’ll tell you how many matches they have found so far based on your profile. Mine said they found over 30,000 so far. Must be a large site.

By the second page, I had lost 4,000 matches. The next page goes over your physical appearence and what your ideal matches physical appearence. Again, pretty basic questions that you would expect to answer on every dating site you encounter. After filling out the second page, I had lost 6,000 more matches and I wasn’t being too particular. The next page goes into your nationality and religion and what your matches should be. Again, I wan’t too particular, but did somehow lose 16,000 matches which brings me down to 4,000. Some people must be pretty particular about nationality and religion.

The next page is about your education, career, income, and social habits. At first, 5 pages for an online dating ad seemed to be on the high side, but each page pretty much only has 2 questions on it about you and then corresponding questions for the person you are looking for. After that last page, I was down to 865 matches. Now we are to the last of the 5 pages. The only questions on this page are if you have ever been married, do you have kids, and do you want kids.

Now the profile we just setup is free. After creating it, you are prompted to enter your credit card information to be able to start your full free 7 day trial. This means that without entering your credit care, you are unable to email and chat with other members. You can still read mail that you may get, but you cannot reply. The only things you can do without entering your credit card are view other profiles, and send winks. Now since the first 7 days are free, you really dont have anything to lose if you do try it out. But you have to remeber to cancel if you are unsatisfied and do not want to be charged monthly for using True.com. Read more »

Perfect Match

perfectmatch.com online dating

Interested in making personal dating profile on PerfectMatch?

I had heard a little about it so I made one. Here is a little info on the sing up process…….

Not a ton about your physical appearance besides the normal questions. That’s pretty much all there is to the first page. On the second page, you are asked to go over a lot of true/false questions about yourself. Followed by some basic personality charateristics that highlight your pros and cons. Perfect Match goes through your religious practices and beliefs a tab more in-depth than most online dating sites.

After you fill out what you are all about, you select traits and geographical characteristics that are appealing to you when looking for in your ideal match. Even after those pages there are more true/false to come. The next set is geared towards your life and livestyle. This goes into intimate encounters, family and friends, jealousy, punctuality, children, music, hobbies, social habits, financial habits, etc.

After you have filled out the first main 4 sections, the last and most significant is still ahead. This is what they call the “Duet Analysis.” This includes 8 pages of questions geared at finding out as much about you as possible so that Perfect Match can find the perfect person for you. The categories of questions in this section are:

  • Romantic Impulsivity
  • Personal Energy
  • Outlook
  • Predictibility
  • Flexibility
  • Decision Making Style
  • Emotionality
  • Self-nurturing

After all the questions are filled out, you get an online dating personality profile. Here is what mine was(some questions answered without reading). Read more »

American Singles

americansingles.com online dating website

AmericanSingles.com has been a little quiet lately so I wanted to check it out and see what they have to offer the online dating community. As their title would suggest, they are pretty much just an American dating website. They have personal ads from other countries, but not of any real signifigance. AmericanSingles has done some TV advertisements but I haven’t seen any too recently. They are not advertised as a 100% free dating site. They do however allow you to make a free profile. So I made one.

From their homepage, you just select “make a free profile” and follow the easy steps. You choose your own username and password which I like much better than being given one from the dating site. The first page in the signup process goes a little bit deeper in their questioning than other sites such as JustSayHi , or HookUp . They ask you your first and last name, which I’m sure doesn’t have to be correct. You enter your personal description at this point. Usually you don’t fill that in until you get a little further, but it really doesn’t matter.

After the first page of your personal ad, you are asked to complete your profile further, all though you do not have to. American Singles displayed over 10,000 other members online at this point, which is at about 5 pm on a Saturday. That’s a pretty large number. There are about 4 pages of information to fully complete your profile. The pages are,

  • Personal Info
  • Basic
  • More About You
  • Interests
  • Photos

One cool feature of this site is that they find matches for you and make it very easy to accept or reject their suggestions. When browsing other members personal ads, you can select, Yes, No, or Maybe. Once you have decided that you would like to contact a member you have several choices as well. One option that is unigque to AmericanSingles is sending an “e-card.” You can send cheesy pickup lines, birthday cards, friendship or flirting cards. I personally like that feature. You can also add them to your “hotlist.” That’s as far as it goes for a free member. You CANNOT send messages to other users without becoming a premium member. Here is a little bit of info on their 3 premium membership options. Read more »

OkCupid

OkCupid is a relatively new dating site. It is not an adult site by any means. It also is not your traditional singles community. It feels similar to a Myspace/Friendster with the main focus in online dating and match making. This dating site has many features that are fun to play around with. One being their tests and questions you answer for points. Once you get to 500 points you are able to create your own question and have other members answer it. The point of these questions is to get an idea of who you are and what other members have similar beliefs and characteristics for matching purposes.

The questions serve as a matchmaking system. When answering questions, you select your answer and what you would want in your partner. After you have answered a certain amount of these questions, they start to develop a match profile and can fit you with other singles on the dating site. I answered a few questions and still didn’t get a very good “percentage” complete. For them to have a good understanding of your personality, you would probably have to answer over 100 questions. If you use the personals site often that really wouldn’t be too hard.

OkCupid is completely free and at no point that I noticed are you asked to signup or pay for anything while on their site. The overall profile is pretty in-depth and could take a little while to create. You are allowed to post pictures obviously. They want them to be of your face only which is a little different. After you upload the picture, they ask you to crop the picture so it’s pretty much just your face. They will delete innapproriate pictures so I would make sure and read what is acceptable for your personal ad.

Their traffic rankings are pretty solid. According to Alexa, their Global traffic raking is 3,519. Their US rank is 726 with 56% of their overall traffic coming from the United States! That’s a pretty good rank which means this dating site should have a lot of members searching for singles.

JustSayHi

I know we have recently taken a look at JustSayHi, but I wanted to take it a little further and see how this free online dating site really works. I created a free male dating profile and started to play around with the site. When creating your free profile, you will have to fill out a couple pages of info but not much at all when compared to some other dating sites. After you get done with your profile, you’ll be ask to join about 6 other advertisements. Just make sure you dont confuse one of the pages with JustSayHi and fill your information in our you’ll find yourself subscribed to something you most likely do not want. Once you have skipped all of those ad pages, you’ll need to verify your email account to activate your profile.

Once you have activated your profile you are free to roam about the site and start meeting singles or whatever you are on the site for. There are basic features on the site. You can invite friends to join by entering your email address and sending them an invite. You can search for people who fit your criteria. You can also do advanced searches for singles as well. JustSayHi will actually find matches that they think are a fit for you so you’ll have a “matches” tab with people you might be interested in.

When search results are displayed, you have several options. You can simply check out their profile, send them an email, or let them know you are interested. All features are free at JustSayHi. I am not sure yet if there are limitations to how many members you can message per day, but so far I have not run into anything like that. I searched and messaged a member and got a REAL response back very quickly. That member was online at the moment, but it is good to see that there are people out there using the site as intended. Datehookup

Datehookup is starting to get a lot more attention in the online dating world. A lot of the attention could be from the fact that they are almost at the very top of online dating searches from search engines like Google. This dating site boasts that it is 100% free and that is completely correct. They offer many of the normal features that you would expect to find as a premium(paying) member on other dating sites. These features include instant messaging, emailing, posting pictures, dating ideas, and others.

The unique features of Date Hookup definitely has to be the dating ideas and singles forums. Dating ideas are just what it sounds like. You can read helpful posts/articles that can aid you in your single searching experience. Singles forums is a great place where you can read and discuss certain subjects with other singles. Other dating features that are not as unique are your own blog, adding your friends, and customizing your ad. Most of those features are common among almost all dating sites online today.

Their alexa ranking looks pretty bad globally, but is pretty decent when just looking at the US, which makes up about 84% of their traffic. Datehookup’s global Alexa ranking is 35,055 and their US ranking is 3,857. Quite a difference. The second most prominate country on Datehookup is Canada which makes up about 5% of the overall traffic.

Mate1 Problems

Mate1 is starting to get a little more attention in the online dating world. They seem to have a steady growth in traffic over the past 3 months or so according to alexa when looking at overall pages viewed. Meaning that there dating members are looking at more singles on the site lately. They have lost overall traffic ranking. The site allows you plenty of free features. One problem is actually getting your messages. I made a profile to test the site out and was impressed by all the members. However, I would message others and never hear back from them. Not just for dating, but for friendship and whatever. It seemed that the other singles were not getting anything from me. So I setup a second profile and tried messaging my other ad, and the message was not going through????

Again, these were free member profiles, but on an online dating website, you should be able to use the features they say you can. If they are not going to let you contact others, they just flat out should not let you have the option. I know this dating website has been around for several years without becoming close to as big as a singlesnet, match, or eharmony. Perhaps they need to work out some of the problems the site is having.

Mate1’s Global ranking on alexa is 3,203. Their US ranking is 1,552. Both are pretty good in comparison to other online dating sites out there.

Newly Popular Dating Site, JustSayHi

Justsayhi is climbing in the popularity ranks in the world of online dating very fast.  I naturally wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I recently made a personal profile to check out the features and perks for its dating members.  The first thing I noticed, is the massive quantity of ads when creating your profile.  They bombard you with ads when setting your account up very similar to monster.com.  There were about 8 I had to pass on before getting into my personals ad.  I have not found anywhere that asks you to pay to join so I’m pretty sure this dating site is totally free.

This dating site is very direct and easy to use which I like.  They have most of the usual options here.  You must verify your email address before you are able to read messages that other interested singles have sent you.  Other features are advanced searches, mutual matches, justsayhi community access, and instant messaging.  Their dating community consists of walls you can post on that other online daters started.  Some are pretty fun, and others are a little out there.  Just depends on what you like talking about.

One last thing is pictures for you dating profile.  This site is a “clean” site, so you may want to save the crotch shots for other sites Fling, or AFF.  For the most part the users on there keep it pretty conservative with a few showing some skin.  This website seems to get plenty of traffic so I don’t think finding online singles here will be too difficult.  If I left anything out, please correct me.

Millionaire Dating?

Another slightly newer category for singles to find each other online is “Millionaire Dating.”  I think this is probably just a dream and nothing more for females and vice versa.  Here you are basically creating a community of wealthy individuals, and then exposing them to most likely, gold-diggers.  The main type of person you are going to attract to something like this, is someone only looking for someone with money.  Obviously the wealthy members who join these sites are completely ok with it.  That would probably tell me that they are one step away from prostitution.  There are quite a few sites out there that fit this niche.  I’m sure that some of the sites out there actually do create a postive environment for financially sucessful individuals to meet other well off individuals.  A very common trait of wealth people is that they work a lot and are busy.  I would think that they would be more interested in a site for busy professionals, rather than others who are looking to better themselves from someone else’s wealth.  I haven’t had nearly as much experience with this niche, but I am definiteley going to investigate it further for future posts.  The main thing I would like to find out, is if these sites actually verify the stated wealth of the members.  If they don’t, then they can’t be a credible resource for wealthy individuals.
